PolarPiece was developed as an in-house apparel brand built on a simple but strict mandate: everything had to be made in Canada.
Rather than using Canadiana as a surface-level aesthetic, the goal was to create an authentic brand rooted in domestic materials, production, values and to scale it into a commercially viable business.
I led PolarPiece end to end, owning creative direction and execution across brand identity, garment and graphic design, photography, e-commerce, and trade show experiences. Over time, this evolved from hands-on design into full creative ownership as the brand scaled.
Designing Brand and Product Together
The garments and the brand were developed in parallel. Materials, textures, typography, and graphics were designed to feel honest and durable, reflecting Canadian sensibilities rather than trends.
True Canadian-Made Production
A Canada-first supply chain was established and maintained, including fabrics milled in Montréal, cut-and-sew production in the GTA, Canadian-made inks and dyes, and YKK hardware. This commitment became a core part of the brand story and customer trust.
Scalable Visual Systems
Repeatable systems were built for seasonal product drops, graphic applications, e-commerce assets, and physical environments, allowing the brand to grow without losing consistency.
Experiential & Trade Shows
Trade show booths and retail environments were designed as physical extensions of the brand, focusing on clarity, pacing, and materiality rather than temporary display solutions.
