I had the chance to design the CD release cover for Seneca's Independent Music Production 25th year anniversary.
Objective: Create memorable cover art for Seneca College's Independent Music Production (IMP) program 25th anniversary celebration that celebrates the theme of gold and reflects the program's identity and values.
A Celebration of Triumph
Concept: To create a unique and memorable design, we developed a concept for a crest made entirely of gold leaves, inspired by Julius Caesar's laurel wreath. The wreath, a symbol of victory and triumph, is a fitting tribute to the IMP program's achievements over the past 25 years.
Execution: To execute the design, we paid meticulous attention to details such as the placement of the elements and the use of light and shadow to create depth and dimensionality. We experimented with different textures and materials, ultimately settling on a metallic finish to give the design a sense of richness and luxury.
Result: The final product was a visually stunning and memorable cover art that reflected the IMP program's identity and values while incorporating the theme of gold. The use of a crest made entirely of gold leaves, inspired by Julius Caesar's laurel wreath, added a sense of triumph and victory to the design, fitting for a celebration of the IMP program's 25th anniversary.
Impact: The design was applied to a range of promotional materials, including posters, social media graphics, and merchandise, creating a cohesive and recognizable visual identity for the IMP program's 25th anniversary celebration. The design was well-received by the program and their audience and helped to differentiate the program from its competitors.
Conclusion: The design reflects the program's identity and values. The use of a crest made entirely of gold leaves, inspired by Julius Caesar's laurel wreath, is a unique and memorable element that added a sense of triumph and victory to the design. The final product is a testament to the team's creativity and attention to detail and will serve as a lasting tribute to the IMP program's achievements over the past 25 years at Seneca College.
